The Brom family was traveling in search of a new home. Times had been hard and they couldn't afford to live in a major city anymore. Besides, small villages were better places to raise kids anyway. They were passing through an open country side when Martan stopped his wagon, got out, and started unloading. His son, Stehon, got out of his wagon to see what was going on. "I'm to old to keep going on." Martan explained. "I've traveled far and seen much of this world. I've gotten married and had kids. And now my kids has kids. No my son, I will stop here, build a small house, and spend my final days with your mother. Take your family, go and make a life for yourself." "But father," Stephon said, "what kind of life can you have here. Even though this land may be good for farming, it will never be truly worth anything. And even with proper materials you couldn't hope to have a big house." "My son, it doesn't matter how big the house is. For a man's home is his castle. And this," Martan said spreading his arms wide, "shall be my kingdom." "But we're in the middle of nowhere." "But it will be my kingdom of nowhere. Now go my son. You and your family should find a good home. Start a life for yourselves." "A wise man once told me a man's home is where his family is. And you are still my family." No matter how much Martan tried to convence Stephon to leave, he wouldn't. So here, in this empty country side, they started building their houses. As time passed other travelers came about. Everytime they talked to the family about how they were living the old man, as many were starting to call him, would simply say, "A man's home is his castle. And The land is his kingdom. Even if it is in the middle of nowhere." Most thought the family was crazy. But a few liked the idea and started building their own houses. A few people even built small shops. And even after the old man moved to the next world people came. Over time, this small group of homes grew into a village. Sure it's a poor village. Nothing more than a farming community. But they were prould of their little kingdom. And it never occured to them they never truly named it. They just always called it, The Kingdom Of Nowhere. lmao Tell me that's not the longest intro for picture you've ever seen. So, as you can guess, the next few pictures are from The Kingdom of Nowhere. As I said, it's a small village. In fact, the well that Cricket and I are setting at is in the center of what passes for the town square. ![](http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e318/Tekel_Brighteyes/kender/kingdom4.jpg)

You know, I like the way these people think. Why cut down a perfectly good tree to make room for seats when the tree can be used itself. As beautiful of a city as Palanthas is, it would be even more so it the people there took this kind of care. ![](http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e318/Tekel_Brighteyes/kender/kingdom3.jpg)

Thanks Smon, I'm glad you liked the pictures and the story. Are you on IMVU? If so, have you made your avatar look like a kender? If you're on we'll have to chat sometime.
And Leasea, it's awesome you got it up and running. We'll have to chat sometime. I'd love to show you my kender look as well as some of the rooms I have.
